Desi's Pyrography Inspirations

Desi's Pyrography Inspirations is the result of my artistic and adventurous nature. I express it through the art of Pyrography, of writing with fire on a variety of diverse materials. From different types of  wood, to leather, canvas, paper, as well as wood carvings, all expressions of my hidden passions and Mediterranean temperament!! 

 

Within this difficult year of isolation and continuous lock-downs, my art creations became my escape and the way to balance and express my inner calm.

 

Art has always been part of my roots offering me an outlet for my greatest life long passions. I have always been passionate about recycling and  rescuing unwanted items, full of history and potential. Recycling and  reusing materials that can be given a new lease of life, always felt like preserving part of history.

 

My Pyrography reuses a variety of pieces of wood with odd shapes and sizes. My designs are created often, as multiple connected pieces and some are on uneven, strangely shaped wood which adds to their uniqueness. These once unwanted pieces are given a new beginning, a purpose such as bringing happiness to their new owners.

 

I firmly believe that everything has its place in this world and nothing should be wasted. Everything deserves a second chance, especially wood which has been a misused material that future generations may not even have the opportunity to become familiar with.

 

Every Piece is unique and the result of inspiration and hours of fun.

 

The pieces on this website cannot completely capture the details or the unique textures in the actual works.  There is no substitute for viewing the work in person. This site in its own way will attempt to promote the magical art of pyrography and its versatility.
